April Weddings

Here is a look at a wedding we did last year at this same time.  Emily had her wedding and reception at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ.

Below is Emily's bouquet full of peonies, garden roses, freesia, other roses, and sweet peas!  This bouquet smelled devine!

Emily chose pinks and greens for her bridesmaids.  My favorite rose in this bouquet is the pink Rose Vanity.  Can you find it?

Swags are the alternative to a door wreath.  They are more loose and cost effective!

Here is the inside of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ.  We used ribbon to block off the center aisle and marked the pews with tufts of green hydrangea (one of our favorite flowers!).

The lighting completely changed the gym of the church into a beautiful forest.  Lighting is SO important in any event.

The pinks and greens carried over from the ceremony to the reception.  I love this arrangement that we created in our silver trumpet.

This is a very beautiful and cost effective centerpiece: a beautiful silver candelabra with mercury glass votive holders and a tuft of hydrangea with some trailing ivy.

Another way to get a beautiful look for less: floating candles and submerged tulips.  So romantic!

I love the idea of labeling the food at the buffet with little tags and displayed with fruit!  Very creative!

 

How delicious does this cake look?!?  The cake has butter cream icing with our flowers, and do you see her monogram repeated here?

Flower Girls

Here is a look at the cutest part of a wedding ceremony: the flower girls!

A bride can have her flower girls wave ribbons as they walk down the aisle.  Here is a picture of ribbons that we have used at an outside wedding.

 

These ribbon wands below were used at an indoor wedding.  Each wand had little florets and bells attached.  It was so sweet to hear little jingles as the children walked down the aisle!

 

Next, I would like to show you an alternative to flower girls carrying a basket and throwing petals.  In many churches today, flower petals are not allowed inside.  Kissing balls are a great way for the little girls to have something to hold on to that is still precious.

The Kissing balls can be made out of any type of flower that fits with the bride's look.

Below is a more rustic and fall approach to the kissing ball.

 

No matter what the flower girl is holding, she always looks sweet with a halo of flowers on her head! 

Below is a more simple approach to the halo.  Using greenery and berries only is a very cost effective, but still beautiful, way to having a halo.

Below is an example of a more intricate halo that has more bulk without taking over the child's head.

Easter Lillies

This morning I stepped out of my car at Geny's Wholesale, and I could already smell the sweet fragrance of all the Easter Lilies.  Here is a sampling of some of the beautiful lilies that are taking over the shop. No need for candles or scented plug-ins in the office today!
