White Orchids and Candlelight

We had so much fun doing the decor for the Bal D'Hiver this year!  The theme was white orchids and an abundance of candles!  Here is the stage where the women were presented.  We flanked the stage with two river birch trees, white orchids, and hanging votives.

Each woman that was presented carried a bouquet of white orchids and spray roses.

Here they all are together; a total of 65!

Here is part of our set up crew for the day: Nathan, Jim, and Kaitlin (me!).

One of our favorite things was adorning the lions at the entrance with boxwood garland and orchids.

Here is the registration table with a multitude of orchids.

You can't forget the restrooms!

Here is one of the three looks for the table centerpieces: bubble glass with dendrobium orchids.

Another look was a collection of floating candles in glass cylinders.

The third look was a tall martini shaped vase with floating candles and orchids with one bubble glass to add some depth and contrast to the centerpiece.

One of the most important finishing touches is to spot light each table's centerpiece.

Winter Reds and Winter Whites

Lauren's bouquet was made of reds with pops of green succulents and lamb's ear.

I love all of the different textures in this bouquet!

Each of her boutonnieres was different.  Here are two examples from the bunch.

The mothers carried these small nosegays of red roses and anemones.

The grandmothers also wore red roses with a red tulip, pepper berries, and lamb's ear.

We had small arrangements at the church to accent these beautiful rustic tables at Midtown Fellowship Church located on 12th Avenue south.

We had lampposts down the pews with iron candlesticks, and we put branches everywhere we could!

Lauren's reception was held at Cellar One, which is a cool venue downtown.

I love the atmosphere in this room with the draping, lighting, and of course...the flowers!

I love our rustic iron trees with all of the candles!

These are our tall trees made of birch branches.

These are cute arrangements in tree trunk containers.

The big beautiful rose in the middle is our new favorite: the O'Hara Rose.

The Iron Tree is always a hit.  I love all of the different cakes on vintage cake stands.

December Whites and Silver

Ashley chose white and silver as the colors for her December wedding.  Below is a picture of her gorgeous bouquet.  I love all of the textures, but my favorite is the open white peony.

Ashley's bridesmaids carried a smaller version of her bouquet.

Silver Brunia was used for the guy's boutonnieres.

The mothers carried a small and sweet gardenia.

The flower girls carried these sweet bell wands with little orchids attached.

The ceremony was held at West End Methodist Church.  It is such a beautiful church!

The reception was held at the Waller Landsen Law Firm.  The guests were able to take a silver ornament as a gift from the bride and groom.

Look at that view!  Imagine this at sunset...wow!
